The flavors of citrus and pineapple and rum combine to make this delicious Blue Hawaiian Cocktail that looks like the ocean and tastes like days spent in the sunshine on a beach. You’ll love the combination of the flavors and the feeling of a mini-vacation while relaxing with this fun easy to make drink!

Summer and a cool refreshing cocktail just go together. This Blue Hawaiian is just perfect for this hot summer days. Especially if you are dreaming of sitting on the beach watching the waves roll in and your toes in the sand. Which I am dreaming of anytime I’m not at the beach.

As is my custom at New South Charm when I post a cocktail recipe this will make a batch of cocktails. But, if you’re like me you’ll want to make more than one. I always do like with my Easy Beer Margaritas and my Big Batch Moscow Mules.

A glass pitcher filled with Blue Hawaiian cocktail.

How to make a Blue Hawaiian Cocktail:

Ingredients:

  • Rum
  • Blue Curaçao
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Coconut Cream
  • Ice
  • Pineapple (for garnish)
  • Cherries (for garnish)

Ingredients needed to make a Blue Hawaiian.

Instructions:

  1. Add ice cubes into a large pitcher.
  2. Open the can of Coconut Cream and stir it until the liquid that has settled to the top is incorporated cream in the can. If you are using a squeeze bottle of coconut cream give it a good shake before using.
  3. Pour the white rum, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, and coconut cream into the pitcher.
  4. Stir well. Pour into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with pineapple slices and cherries. Cheers!

Where can I find canned Coconut Cream?

Canned coconut cream can be found with the other cocktail mixers in the drink aisle or in the international foods aisle of your local grocery store.

A spoon full of Coconut Cream.

Substitutions and Variations:

Coconut Cream Substitution: You can use coconut-flavored rum, such as Malibu, instead. You’ll get the same coconut flavor!

No Blue Curaçao? You can swap it  for 6 oz (1/4 cup) of Triple Sec. Triple Sec has similar orange flavor undertones. If you use Triple Sec the drink will not have the same fun blue color.

Make it frozen! These blue drinks are amazing frozen. Do make a frozen version simply add a couple cups of ice to the pitcher of a blender then follow directions as listed. Blend until it reaches your desired consistency.

I hope you’ll enjoy sipping on this great cocktail as much as I have!

Cheers!
