Buying frozen shrimp can be a little confusing. There are a lot of choices tail on/tail off, small/medium/large and even extra large, etc. You can even choose between raw and fully cooked. For this recipe I recommend buy large raw shrimp. I had a bag of shrimp with the tail on in the freezer so I used it BUT buying it with the tail off might be easier when actually eating the pasta.

What is the best way to thaw Shrimp?

There are two quick and safe ways to thaw shrimp. The first is to place the frozen shrimp in a bowl then fill it with cold water. Put the bowl in the sink under a steady stream of cold water allowing the water to overflow the bowl. This process should take around 15 minutes.

The second is to place the shrimp in a colander then submerge into a bowl of cold water. Allow the colander to stand for ten minutes. Next, remove the colander and replace the water with fresh water and replace colander. Allow the shrimp stand in water for fifteen minutes or until thawed completely.

How to make Lemon Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Pasta:

Once you’ve thawed the shrimp you are ready to cook the shrimp. Begin by warming olive oil in a skillet then melt two tablespoons of butter. Then cook the onion and garlic cook until tender and translucent. Next, add the red pepper flakes and Italian Seasoning until fragrant; this should take around a minute.

Place the shrimp into the skillet season with salt and pepper and then cook unit the shrimp turns pink. Combine the shrimp with prepared pasta more butter, parsley, lemon juice and parmesan cheese. Toss together until the butter and cheese are melted.

Garnish with a little more parsley and parmesan cheese and get ready to be blown away by the deliciousness of this Lemon Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Pasta!

Happy Cooking Y’all!

This dish looks so light and fresh! We’ve got loads of shrimp and pasta noodles leftover from other recipes. This would be something new and different to try and use up all those ingredients. It sounds delicious. Anytime lemon and pasta get together, I’m in! 🙂
