Nutella is totally addictive! I could go on and on about how good it is. How I love it on toast in the morning or dipping apples in it in the afternoon. But, since you’re here reading about how to make cookies with it I’m going to guess you love it too! It is super yummy for sure!
What is Nutella?
Nutella is delicious spread made with hazelnuts and cocoa. It has a rich chocolate and nutty flavor. People use it on everything from toast and waffles at breakfast to sweet desserts like these cookies.
How do you make these Easy Nutella Cookies?
What you’ll need:
- all purpose flour
- baking powder
- salt
- unsalted butter
- Nutella
- brown sugar
- large eggs
- vanilla
Recommended Equipment:
- parchment paper
- cookie scoop
- wire cooling rack
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt then set aside.
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat together butter and brown sugar. Then beat in hazelnut spread.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add in flour mixture in 3 parts, mixing until fully combined.
- Spoon heaping tablespoons onto prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
- Using a greased fork, press down on each cookie making a crisscross pattern.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, then allow to cool for 3 minutes on pan before moving to cooling rack.
Can these cookies be frozen?
Yes! Make sure the cookies are completely cooled first. Then in an airtight container using parchment paper stack them in layers placing a sheet of parchment paper between each layer.
Another option is to individually wrap the cookies in parchment. Thaw the cookies on the counter or warm them in the oven for 1-2 minutes before serving.
My tips for this recipe:
- Use a cookie scoop to get uniformly sized cookies. I used a medium sized scoop which is about 1.5 tablespoons in size.
- I used name brand Nutella but you can use any other brand of hazelnut spread.
- Make sure to allow the cookies to cool completely on a cooling rack before serving. The cookies might seem soft when they come out of the oven but will set when cooled.
I like to serve these with a tall glass of cold milk or a cup of my favorite tea. These cookies are perfect for sharing with that one friend that eats Nutella by the spoonful.
Happy Baking Y’all!
