Brownie Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • dash of salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 ready made refrigerated pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Place pie crust in pie pan and set aside
  3. In a medium sauce pan over low heat melt butter add chocolate stirring until it is completely melted
  4. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Add flour, eggs, vanilla and salt stir until well combined.
  5. Stir in Chocolate chips
  6. Spread mixture into pie crust. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove the pie shields after baking for about 15-20 minutes so the crust will become a golden brown.
  7. Cool pie completely before slicing.

Recipe Notes

  1. Preheat your oven for about 20 minutes before putting the pie into bake. This will allow the oven to heat evenly. Have a hot oven when baking (unless the recipe says start from a cold oven) is one of the most important steps you can take to ensure baking success. 
  2. To reheat this pie place it in a 300 degree oven for 7-10 minutes watching closely to prevent the crust from burning.
