French Dip Sandwich

These French Dip Sandwiches with Au Jus are made with slices roast beef, provolone cheese, and seasonings piled on a roll. This easy, family approved dinner is ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound roast beef thinly sliced
  • 8 slices Provolone Cheese
  • 2 cans Beef Consommé
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion power
  • 1 teaspoon galic minced, or ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 sandwich rolls
  • Horseradish or Mayonnaise optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven's broiler to high setting

  2. In a saucepan combine Beef Consommé, onion powder, and garlic

  3. Bring to a slow boil stirring often

  4. Add roast beef two or three pieces at a time allowing them to simmer for two minutes.

  5. Transfer warm roast beef onto sandwich roll

  6. Layer cheese on then top with bread. Then place on a baking sheet.

  7. Repeat steps 2-4 until all sandwiches are made

  8. Place under broiler for 2 minutes or until cheese is metled.

  9. Divide au jus into ramekins or small bowls

Recipe Notes

Reheating Instructions: Wrap each sandwich individually in foil and keep in the fridge. When you are ready to reheat place the foil wrapped sandwich   on a baking sheet and place in a 350 degree oven for about three minutes or until heated completely through. Leftover au jus can be reheated on the stove top or in the microwave.
