If you’re having friends and family over to for a party you need to have awesome appetizers and snacks for munching. If you don’t have great food is it really even a party? Some of our favorites are Slow Cooker Beef Queso,  Fried Ravioli and Corn Beef Sliders.

This recipe for Sweet and Spicy Little Smokies is seriously good. It has the perfect combination of sweet and savory. It also has a touch of heat that makes this recipe a huge hit with everyone and dangerously addictive.

I’ve tried a few different versions of these cocktail sausages over the years but the one I’m sharing with you is hand’s down, by far, the best one. Why is this recipe better than all the rest?  The sauce.  The sauce has a sweet flavor with just a touch of spice. Together the sweet and spicy flavors play off each other and that’s what sets this recipe apart from others.

Now, for this version I used cocktail winers but you could use two 14 oz. Kielbasa or Smoked Sausages. If you choose either of these slice them into half inch pieces before placing into the crockpot.

These Sweet and Spicy Little Smokies are perfect for serving at:

  • a family reunion
  • a potluck
  • a holiday party
  • a quick brunch
  • tailgating or while watching the big game
  • and even an easy dinner

How to make Sweet and Spicy Little Smokies Appetizer:

To make this easy crowd pleasing appetizer being by combining chili sauce, grape jelly, Worcestershire, garlic and onion powered in the bowl of your slow cooker and then stir to combine.

Add the sausages to the sauce and toss until evenly coated. Then cover with the lid and cook for 4-6 hours on low. If you are going to serve your guests from the crock pot then switch it warm to keep the sausage from cooling too much and provide a ladle or large spoon for serving.

Happy Cooking Y’all!
