Honey Garlic Chicken is made with the most amazingly delicious savory sauce that only has four ingredients. You won’t believe how this simple sauce will transform your chicken dinner from blah to wow!
If you are like me you can NEVER have enough recipes for chicken. We eat chicken at least twice a week, some weeks three times. So I am always on the look out for a new recipes that feature chicken.
The best part of this Baked Honey Garlic Chicken is the sauce! I’m not kidding when I tell you I couldn’t stop tasting it. This sauce is so, so good!
How do you make Honey Garlic Chicken?
You will need:
- chicken breasts
- all purpose flour
- paprika
- honey
- soy sauce
- Sriracha sauce
- garlic
- sesame seeds (optional)
- scallions (optional)
You’ll also need:
- non-stick spray
- aluminum foil
- and a 9×13 casserole dish
Instructions:
- Start with spraying a 9×13 casserole dish with non-stick spray
- Next in a shallow bowl or pie plate combine flour and paprika then dredge the chicken breast through the flour mixture and transfer the chicken into the casserole dish.
- Then in small mixing bowl combine honey, soy sauce, Sriracha sauce, and garlic.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken making sure to coat each piece evenly.
- Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes
- At the end 30 minutes remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes
Variations for this recipe:
Today I used boneless skinless chicken breasts but you can use bone-in chicken or even chicken thighs if you prefer. If using chicken thighs adjust the cooking time to 30 minutes. Bake covered in foil for 20 minutes then uncovered for the last 10 minutes or until internal temperature of the chicken reads 165 degrees on a meat thermometer.
My tips for making this recipe:
It is not necessary to season the chicken with salt before cooking for this recipe. The soy sauce has enough acidic flavor to bring out the flavors in the chicken.
Dredge both sides the chicken through the flour so that the sauce adheres to both sides Dipping the chicken in the flour will also help the chicken stay moist and paprika adds flavor so added bonus!
I serve this chicken with these Skillet Green Beans to complete an easy dinner. Shred leftover chicken add a little more sauce. Â Then serve over rice or salad topped with fried wontons for an easy lunch the next day.

Dipping the chicken in the flour first will also help the chicken stay moist.
Add a 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the sauce before pouring it over the chicken to add a little spice to this recipe.

This is delicious, but mine came out a little tough. What am I doing wrong? I used bone-in skin-on chicken drumsticks and cooked in convection for 45 minutes.
Susanne
Can you tell me the temperature you set the convection oven? Chicken drumsticks should be baked at 350 for about 40 minutes or until they reach an internal temp of 180 degrees. If they were dry they were probably over cooked which can happen for any number of reasons. I recommend checking the temperature with a meat thermometer at the 30 minute mark and again every 6-7 minutes until they reach 180 degrees. Hope this helps.
