I don’t know about you but deciding on what side dishes to make is sometimes tricky. Like what do you make to go with tacos or another Mexican recipe? Well, wonder no more because this recipe for Season Black Beans is it.
For years whenever I’ve made Mexican or Tex-Mex for dinner I’ve always wondered what to make to go with it. I wanted something easy and fast but it also had to be delicious. These Seasoned Black Beans are both. They are also the best black beans I’ve ever had.
Making these Seasoned Black Beans couldn’t be easier all you need to do is open two cans black beans and dump them into a medium saucepan over medium heat. Next, add in a can of diced green chilies, onion, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper then stir to combine ingredients. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
If you want you can add a little shredded cheese to the top of the beans. To give them a little extra flavor but it’s not necessary because these beans are so good.

- 2 (15 oz.) cans of black beans, do not drain
- 1 (4 oz.) can of diced green chilies
- ½ cup diced onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- salt and pepper to taste
- In a medium sauce pan combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
