These Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots are company worthy but they are so simple to make you’ll want to eat them everyday.
A while back I mentioned that I was on the search for new side dish ideas. Carrots are something I don’t make very often and when I do I usually just add a little salt and pepper and heat them on the stove.
This recipe isn’t much different than what I already do. Only a few small changes made a HUGE difference. It was so good we may never eat carrots any other way again.
These were just sweet enough to make them delicious but not so sweet that you only taste the sugar. Plus they were tender all the way through; which his how I like my carrots when they’ve been cooked.
Begin with a small package of ready to eat carrots. Rinse them throughly and pat dry with a dishtowel or paper towel.
Once you’ve prepped the carrots put them in a saucepan with water, butter and brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper then bring everything to a boil over medium high heat. It is important to keep the heat down so that the sugar and butter don’t burn.
Allow the carrots to simmer on low for 5 minutes. Then turn the heat up to high and cook until the water evaporates and they are fork tender. This should take about 5-6 minutes.
These carrots will disappear pretty fast so be sure to enjoy them while you can.
